New Product: Hair and Scalp Oil

I have put together a new infused oil blend using some traditional Ayurvedic herbs.  I grow the Bacopa Monnieri and the Gotu Kola and warm-infuse them into Sesame oil and then separately make a long warm infusion of the organic powder of Bhringaraj, Eclipta alba, also known as false daisy, into Sesame oil.  Traditional uses for these herbs topically include anti inflammatory, circulatory stimulant, reversing baldness, hair growth and clearing the mind.    See for example the excellent book Ayurvedic Medicine by Sebastian Pole.

I used the Hair and Scalp Oil last year for my own hair which has been thinning with age.  Now that I have a new batch made I will start to use it again weekly as I did notice a difference on the scalp as well as healthier, stronger hair.

This blend has no essential oils added but could be paired well with my new Rosemary verbenone in Jojoba, available separately.

Hair and Scalp Oil

Bacopa monneiri / Brahmi, Bhringaraj, and Gotu Kola infused into Sesame oil, with Argan and Jojoba oils

New Neroli, Agarwood, and Sandalwood Blend and more

Tomorrow at the Almonte Farmers’ Market I will have this brand new blend.  All the ingredients are sustainably grown, harvested and processed!  I have taken two Floracopeia products, Neroli essential oil and Agarwood attar, and blended them into Jojoba and Coconut oils for you to enjoy.

I  have been wanting to mix a new uplifting scent and bring it to the market, especially this week because the current astrology stuff is intense and I can see many people struggling including myself.  At first I thought it might be a Bergamot-based blend but when I began to meditate with the scents it was the Neroli that reached out.  Upon inhalation it is deeply warming in the chest and very uplifting in a soothing way.

The Agarwood Attar from Floracopeia is a very special steam distillation of agarwood from a sustainably grown agarwood forest in Thailand blended into sustainably grown Australian sandalwood oil.  David Crow from Floracopeia calls this attar a “wish-fulfilling gem”, and my hope is that this new blend with Neroli helps fulfill your wishes as well.

In addition, I’ve restocked many out of stock items: this year’s fresh, wildcrafted, sun-infused St. Johnswort Oil,  Balance oil blend, Lymph oil blend, and several freshly-distilled hydrosols.

Take care of yourselves!

New Frankincense Resin Oil & Almonte Farmers’ Market

Frankincense Resin Oil

Frankincense Resin Oil

This week I put together a very nice frankincense resin oil blend with the remaining Boswellia Carterii oleoresin oil I had leftover from making the salve.  I added, at 5% strength, a blend of 3 unique types of frankincense essential oils: Boswellia papyriferaBoswellia serrata, and Boswellia rivae .

I will have this new oil in stock at the Almonte Farmers’ Market this Saturday, June 16th.  I hope to see you there, and as always at the market you will have an opportunity to try all of the products, and also take advantage of end-of-batch sales.

And of course all of our products are available online!

Almonte Winter Market

I’m preparing for the Almonte Farmer’s Market annual Winter Market on Saturday December 9th at the Almonte Community Center. I really love these markets because I get to meet the local people and talk about what I do. So many people give me great feedback about my products, and hearing people’s stories gives me a lot of good ideas for new blends and preparations. Thanks to everyone who I’ve met so far this year, and I look forward to talking to everyone on December 9th!
